I received this book as a gift for Christmas and have already put it to good use. It’s a fantastic resource in that a myriad of cuisines are covered in one text. You won’t need to bust out multiple cookbooks to find some variety for your weekly meal planning. I also enjoy reading the excerpts before each recipe which provide insight and context as to why the specific chef chose their recipe to share for the publication. https://interlink-publishing.square.site/product/the-immigrant-cookbook-rec
I thought I’d pass along my goto thermometer. It’s light, it’s reliable, and most-importantly fast. I was a bit reluctant to purchase one of these, as I prefer a probe thermometer as to not disturb the cooking process by opening an oven multiple times to take temperature of my meat that was cooking away. However, my probe thermometer had been giving me some trouble with reliability. So, I took a chance and this tool is a must have.

I reference this cookbook quite regularly. This particular book, covers over 700 of Jacques Pepin's all-time favorite recipes, but (even more importantly) also comes with a companion DVD of cooking and knife techniques which you can easily refer to at any moment. I too learned how to properly hold and use a knife from Jacques Pepin, many years ago, just by watching his cooking shows on PBS.
